I got a message a few weeks ago from a reader asking me what my go-to kitchen tools are for keto, so I thought I’d put together a quick post with my favorite keto kitchen stuff. These would make great gifts for any food-lover or keto cook in your life this holiday season.
In The Oven
I love this half sheet pan from Nordic Ware so much that I have three of them. One with the removable grid insert for crisping veggies or using this method from Serious Eats to reverse sear the perfect steak and two others that are perfect for roasting veggies, baking chicken, cooking up a fathead pizza, or collecting things from the grill in the summer.
These AmazonBasics silicone baking mats are just as good as the Silpat version for 1/3rd the price! They fit perfectly on the Nordicware pans above and prevent things from sticking to the pan. I use them for my keto eggplant parmesan, keto biscuits, baked chicken, making cheese crackers, and baking delicate things like meringues or fish that I don’t want to stick. They save you from the struggle of getting parchment paper to the exact size every time too.
Stovetop
I use this pan from OXO nearly every day. It’s my workhorse for scrambled eggs, chicken thighs, sauteing veggies, keto pancakes, egg roll in a bowl, and sometimes even stew. It can also go from stovetop to oven for finishing meats. It basically lives on our stovetop at this point. It’s not on Amazon, but this frying pan is similar if you don’t need the lid. I grabbed mine at Bed Bath and Beyond with a coupon!
You have to have some good silicone utensils to go with a non-stick pan. These tongs are great for carefully turning meats. The silicone coated spatula slips under a fried egg like greased lightening. And the wider nylon spatula is nice for serving up sauted veggies or pancakes.
Baking
These cupcake liners work great in a muffin tin or inside a baking dish or cookie sheet. I like to bake my egg muffins inside them because they come out super easily. (As opposed to the one time I tried without them and ended up throwing out the entire muffin tin…) I also make keto muffins, fat bombs, or use them to portion out jello or snacks for my lunch box.
A good set of mixing bowls is a must, even if you don’t bake. These are a newer version of the ones we have and love. I appreciate that they can go in the microwave for making “fat head” pizza dough and then go in the dishwasher afterwards for quick clean up. The pour spouts are nice too.
If you are someone who likes to precisely track your macros, you’ll definitely want a great kitchen scale! I like that it has its own bowl on top so you can measure ingredients into it, and when you’re done, the bowl inverts to be a nice little cover for it to sit there on the counter. The bowl can also be tossed in the dishwasher for fast cleanup.
This last one may seem silly, but I went through a lot of different containers trying to figure out how to store my KerryGold butter blocks that I buy at Costco. This one is absolutely a perfect fit! It also fits 2 sticks side by side of other butter brands. I love using quality butter for cooking and topping dishes while on keto, so this is something I use almost daily.
What are your top 10 keto kitchen tools? What are you using daily?
